The Hobbit

No, not a full review of the film – not yet anyway, although I am going to be getting to that soon. This is about the board game.

You see recently there was an event called Christmas. And we had a “Secret Santa” in the office. It was with a certain amount of trepidation that I opened my gift, fully expecting something offensive, as these things are wont to be.

It was with surprise and delight, however, that when I unwrapped it, I found I had actually received a copy of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey the board game!

The game features a nice sturdy playing board, and some wonderfully detailed plastic minatures of the film’s characters, both from Thorin’s company and the monsters they encounter along the way. All I need now are some willing players, but sadly the family aren’t interested. Its safe to say they don’t share my enthusiasm for games of any kind, or Middle-earth.

Ho hum.

  1. You will have to arrange a board games evening ;-)

Arranging board games evenings is your job ;)

And anyways, although I’d like to, I can’t have one here – there’s no space in the Illusive Mansion – its all full of servers and dog biscuits!
